The conference uses data from the Growing Up in Ireland child cohort study to explore three main themes:. .1. Gender: whether boys and girls have different experiences in primary school.. .2. Special Educational Needs: whether children with special educational needs differ from their peers in their degree of engagement with school.. .3.
